ABOUT ME
|
I was diving off the Farne Islands in Northumberland some thirty-eight years ago when a friend handed me a Nikonas underwater camera with a Cube flash attached to it. Seeing the printed photos and the beautiful colours of the Anemones, Nudibranchs and fauna I was hooked.
I joined BSOUP (The British Society of Underwater Photographers) and purchased a Nikon F2 which I put in an Oceanic underwater housing with two flash guns mounted one either side. Setting up a dark room I soon learnt how to develop and print my photos both in coloUr and black/white. I was invited to a local camera club to show some photos and soon afterwards found myself travelling to various parts of the country showing prints and slide shows to diving and camera clubs. With the family growing fast my underwater photography became less and less, and after some years later I discovered Digital which aroused my photographic interest again. Reading photographic magazines and books by well known Photographers soon got me taking better photographs on land. Six years ago I upped sticks and moved to Spain. My photographs have been displayed in several exhibitions and selected for competitions. I enjoy taking photos of most subjects but still have a big draw towards the sea and taking Seascape photographs |
